한류 대중문화의 탈근대적 역사성과 보편성

Trans-modern Historicity and Universality in Hallyu Mass Culture

Hallyu mass culture has the trans-modern historicity and universality different from the modern high culture because it has been produced in the trans-modern historical context of the late 20th century and the 21st century. Based on the theory of image things different from the hermeneutics of letters of high culture, Trans-modern historicity and universality of Hallyu has “other (or eco) language, other (or becoming) logic and other (or producing) thinking” different from the modernity expressed in Local Histories/Global Designs by Walter Mignolo. Trans-modern callings for tradition in dramas, cinemas and K-pops of Hallyu reconstructs of the tradition distorted by the western modernity, and transforms the modern colonial present into the trans-modern producing one. In this respect, We have to deterritorialize from the modern christian hermeneutics, the narrative theory of high culture and the modern imperial cultural theories on postmodernism or new-liberalism, and reterritorialize into the trans-modern contexts of Hallyu mass cultural texts. It is consisted of the eco lange, the becoming logic and the producing thinking escaped from the modern colonial translated epistemology. As the trans-modern knowledge meets with the historical context and change of the cultural geographical forms of Hallyu mass culture, it is possible for Hallyu to make of the productive bases in the continuing it without the a passing phenomenon. The trans-modern possibilities is not limited to Hallyu mass culture, but extended into the trans-modern callings for traditions distorted from the modern colonial knowledge in Asia, America and Africa. And the global trans-modern possibilities make of the equal communication based on the local histories and traditional cultures without the dichotomy of high and low. And Hallyu mass culture has to be constructed into the trans-modern knowledge which are consisted of other eco languages, other becoming logics and other producing thoughts different from the western modern knowledge hided behind the modern/colonial histories in the global locals.
