The purpose of this study is to develop a model for individualized English program in Korean middle schools, which will be in use from 2000. Recent reports have shown negative findings about grouping students according to their ability. It voices concern about inferior feelings, which can develop among the less advanced group students. Therefore, the necessity arose for a proper individualized English management program that can address this issue. The writer in this paper introduces the concept of open education and learning centers, which are rich in audiovisual materials and activities. The writer had created 7 learning centers with the story telling book- Three Little Pigs modified and simplified by the writer. >The following suggestions can be made out of the study ; *Learning center ideas in various levels should be adopted to meet individualization. *Team teaching is necessary as the preparation for learning centers requires team work and responsibilities need to be shared. *Integrated approach within the subject and with other subjects is necessary for a meaningful application. *Careful selection of story telling books for the appropriate levels of the children is necessary. *Successful ideas about individualization using story telling books should be shared among teachers. *Administrators should fully support teachers with abundant materials to make attractive learning centers.
