The study on the estimation of car exhaust gas by biodiesel fuel

In this study, the emission characteristics of car exhaust gas were carried out for three types of diesel cars which used BDF (biodiesel fuel made with waste food oil. The exhaust gas were analyzed for BD20, which adds 20% of biodiesel fuel to commercial diesel fuel, BD50 and BD1OO. Compared to 100% commercial diesel fuel, flash point increased with the amount of BDF, which guarantees the safety of diesel fuel. The pour point, ash content and kinematic viscosity of BDF generalIy satisfied the fuel quality standard. The calorific value was almost the same for all test fuels, and the sulfur content of 100% BDF was very low compared to commercial diesel fueI. The exhaust gas experiment was carried out in CVS-75 mode for three types of diesel cars, two diesel vans and one 1 ton of diesel truck. In general, THC, CO, PM and smoke decreased with the increasing amount of BDF, even though CO did not show the uniform patterns for 1 ton of diesel truck. NOx increased with the increase of BDF, and C02 showed no differences with the addition of BDF.
