한국 장로교회 100년의 역사에 나타난 목회상담학의 흐름과 전망

Trends and Outlooks for Pastoral Counseling Presented in 100 Years of History of the Presbyterian Church in Korea

본 논문은 한국장로교회 100년의 역사에 나타난 목회상담학의 흐름을 파악하고 한국 목회상담학의 미래를 전망하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 한국 목회상담학의 역사를 세단계로 분류하였다. 첫째, 한국 목회상담학의 태동기(1951-1979년), 둘째, 한국목회상담학의 발전기(1980-1999년), 셋째, 복음주의 목회상담학의 출현과 성경적 상담 운동기(2000-현재)이다. 이 가운데 세 번째 단계인 복음주의 목회상담학을 집중적으로 조명하였다. 더 나아가 한국 목회상담학의 학회와 기관 흐름과 성장요인을 분석한 후 한국 목회 상담학의 미래를 전망하였다. 첫째, 신학교육에서 목회상담학의 확산, 둘째, 교회목회에서 상담목회의 증가, 셋째, 목회상담 전문가의 증가, 넷째, 한국적 목회상담학의 증가, 다섯째, 한국교회 강단에서 상담적 설교의 증가, 여섯째, 개혁주의 목회상담학의 발전이 예상된다. 심리학 이론을 바탕으로 한 심리상담은 치료에 한계가 있으므로 인간의 영적 문제와 죄의 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 성경적 세계관과 인간관으로 상담에 임하는 개혁주의 목회상담학이 절실히 필요하다. 개혁신학에 근거한 성경적 목회상담학이 꽃을 피워 이를 통해 한국교회가 건강해지고 한국사회가 밝아지게 되기를 간절히 열망한다.

The purpose of this paper is to understand the trends in pastoral counseling presented in 100 years of history of the Presbyterian Church in Korea and forecast the future of pastoral counseling in Korea. Toward this end, the history of pastoral counseling in Korea was divided into three stages. The first stage is the quickening period of Korean pastoral counseling(1951-1979), and the second is its developing period(1980-1999). The third stage is the period of the emergence of evangelical pastoral counseling and the Biblical Counseling Movement(2000-present). Among them, evangelical pastoral counseling in the third period was focused on in this paper. Furthermore, the future of Korean pastoral counseling was forecasted after analysis of the trends in and growth factors for associations and organizations related to pastoral counseling in Korea. The suggested outlooks include the following: the spread of pastoral counseling in theological education; an increase in counseling ministry; a rise in pastoral counsellors; growth in Korean-style pastoral counseling; an increase in counseling preaching in church pulpits in Korea; and the development of Reformed pastoral counseling. Considering the therapeutic limitations of psychological counseling based on psychological theories, there is an urgent need for Reformed pastoral counseling that involves Biblical views of the world and humankind in order to settle human beings' spiritual and sin-related problems. We sincerely hope that Biblical pastoral counseling based on Reformed theology will prosper so that sounder Korean Church and brighter Korean society can be built.
