A Case Study on the Collaboration of Bank Uniform Design

The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of the uniform design by investigating the cases of the collaboration between the fashion designers and the banks. This kind of corporation started from Woori Bank and Son, Jungwan in 2005 and came to be popular, so that wide spread to the other banks as the feminine and fashionable design based on the wishes of the employees. Following this collaboration, Hana Bank presented the smart uniform design having the traits of sophisticated gracefulness, comfortable and functional designs with the corporation of the designer Jung, Kuho in 2006. In 2007, Kookmin Bank showed the uniform giving emphasis on the emblematic color and symbol with the help of designer Jin, Taeok. This has to the advantage of the possibility of choice in terms of items, on the part of employees, which it was sometimes criticised for being too symbolic. In 2008, Korean Exchange Bank was changed their uniform in order to focus on the image of global bank, with the collaboration of Andre Kim. The emblematic color of the bank was used in some part of the uniform, the trendy uniform of pursuing the functional, refined and comfortable design, being worked out by introducing the knit cardigan of Chanel style. In 2009, SC First Bank showed the uniform design of minimal and sophisticated sense as if strongly stress on the bank's symbol with the collaboration of Jung, Kuho. Over viewing the general trends in uniform design of banks, the respect for the preference of the employees would be the best efficient way of achieving the managerial gains when the banks considering the change of the uniform by collaboration with the fashion designers.
