The Effects of School Environmental Variables and Aggressions on Internet Game Addiction by Elementary School Students

The purposes of this study were to examine effective variables influencing on elementary school students' internet game addiction. The subjects were the 409 elementary school students who used internet game in Gwangju. Data were analyzed with frequency, percentage, cronbach's α, mean, SD and multiple regression using SPSS/PC WIN 17.0 program. The major findings were as follows: 1. The internet games' user the more than 3years had the most. The most frequently used function of internet games was entertaining in home and they used lower than 1 hours a day. The internet game partner was nonexistent. Their parents' attitudes toward their internet game using showed that the most of their parents set the time about their children's internet game use. 2. The average scores(1.75) of internet game addiction were lower than median(3.00). 3. The elementary school students's internet game addictions were influenced by indirect aggression, physical aggression and school life adaptation. And these variables explained to the elementary school students' internet game additions about 30%.
