A Study on Determinants Affecting the Apartment Consumption Selection -The Case of Daegu Metropolitan City-

1. CONTENTS (1) RESEARCH OBJECTIVES This study was conducted to find out the determinant factors affecting the consumer's selection of apartments. (2) RESEARCH METHOD For this purpose, the apartment residents of Daegu were surveyed by questionnaire, and the survey period was 12 days from April, 11 to April, 22, 2011. A total of 250 questionnaires were surveyed and SPSS 18.0 was used to perform the t-test analysis, frequency analysis, factor analysis, and discriminant analysis. (3) RESEARCH FINDINGS Studying at the results of discriminant analysis in order to find determinants of consumption choices for purchasing an apartment, the determinants are social and emotional factors, functional factors, brand factors, environmental factors, situational factors, and economic factors in order. 2. RESULTS The analysis regarding the characteristics of consumption values and determinants for the purchase apartments shows that there are the different consumer choices on between homeownership and lease. Therefore, the apartment supply policy will be needed depending on the characteristics of the apartment consumers.
