Quality of Life in Community: Seven Surveys on Jinju City

1995년부터 2002년까지 동안에 7차례 이루어진 진주지역의 삶의 질 조사연구의 조사 방법과 연구 결과를 지난 7년간의 객관적 상황의 변화와 함께 검토하였다. 진주시의 도시하부구조에 있어서는 일정한 개선이 있었지만, 경제적 상황이나 교통 혼잡의 측면에서는 더 나빠졌다고 할 수 있다. 삶의 질에 대한 정의, 삶의 질의 어떤 부분이 삶의 질을 평가하는데 있어 중요성을 가지는지, 그리고 진주시의 전반적 상태에 대한 평가에 있어서는 안정적 조사결과를 보인다. 하지만 개별 항목에 대한 평가에 있어서는 변이의 정도가 심하며, 삶의 질의 개별 측면에 대한 하위집단별 평가에 있어서도 안정적 경향이 발견되지 않는다. 마지막으로 조사방법에 대한 자기 비판을 하면서, 대안적 방법의 가능성에 대한 토의를 하였다.

I have reviewed the methods and the results of seven surveys on the quality of life in Jinju city which had been conducted between 1995 and 2002 with the statistical data of the city. It is found that the infrastructure of the city has been somewhat improved, but the economy and the traffic condition have been worsened. Survey results have shown that the respondents' pattern on the definition of the quality of life, the relative importance of the various items of quality of life, and the evaluation of the overall condition of the city have been stable. But the degrees of the variation on the evaluation on the individual items of the quality of life among the 7 surveys are relatively large and the longitudinal stability of the evaluations of the subgroups on the individual items of the quality of life is not found. Some problems of the survey method are identified and the possible alternative methods are suggested.
