여성 결혼이민자 부부의 결혼 만족도와 이혼 의향에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석

Family Resources, Marital Satisfaction, and Divorce Proneness in International Marriage Couples in Korea

결혼이민자 부부의 결혼 만족도와 이혼 의향을 종속변수로 하는 로지스틱 회귀분석을 수행한다. 가족자원이론에 근거하여 설명변수들을 탐색하여, ‘부부의 사회·인구학적 결합 형태’, ‘이민자의 한국거주기간’, 한국어능력과 취업 여부 등 ‘이민자의 인적자본’, ‘한국인 남편의 인적자본’, ‘가족 내 사회적 관계’,‘사회·경제적 배경’, ‘출신국 유형’ 등을 선정하였다. 분석 결과, ‘부부의 사회·인구학적 결합 형태’와 ‘사회·경제적 배경’이 결혼 만족도와 이혼 의향에 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 그러나 이민자가 한국사회 적응을 잘 할수록 안정된 결혼생활을 유지할 것이라는 가설은 기각되었다. 개별 독립변수들의 통계적 유의도는 아내와 남편에 따라 제 각각으로 나타났다.

This paper tries to find out determinants of the divorce proneness and the marital satisfaction in international marriage couples, especially female marriage immigrants and their Korean husbands. Social demographic combination of the couple (age and education gap between husband and wife), the duration of immigration, immigrant’s human capital (Korean proficiency and employment status), Korean husband’s human capital (education), social relationships among the family, socioeconomic backgrounds (social class and residential place), and immigrant’s country of origin are selected as explaining variables. The results of logistic regressions are show that social demographic combination of the couple and socio-economic backgrounds are the two key variables affecting divorce proneness. However, other variables including the duration of immigration and immigrant’s human capital reflecting immigrant’s incorporation into Korean society do not have direct effects, but have indirect effects by way of marital satisfaction on divorce proneness.
