The purpose of this research was to study the Adolescent’s self-concept and sex-role traits according to sex, SES. The subjects were 429 high school students in Kwang Ju. To measure the adolescent’s self-concept, Diagnostic Test designed by Song (l989) was employed, and measure sex-role trait, 5 point scale OK Bun Chung’s translated version (l983) of Short Form Sex-role Inventory(BSIR) invented by Bem(l981) was used. For the statistical analysis of data, Freq, One-way ANOVA, Scheffe-test were practiced. The major finding were as follows : 1. The adolescent’s self-concept showed significant difference according to 4 types sex-role identity. Androgyny was found having the most positive relation to self-concept. 2. Although self-concept showed a significant differences in reference to sex of adolescents, but there was no difference by SES. Male student tends to demonstrate more positive self-concept. 3. It was found a significant difference in reference to sex in sex-role trait, but there was no difference by SES. Furthermore, male students showed higher masculine traits as well as feminine traits while female students showed less masculine traits.
