A Study of the Relationship between Emotion Labors and Work Stress among Esthetician

This study aims to investigate skin care specialists’ emotional labor and work stress and determine the correlations between the two factors. For this, a questionnaire survey was conducted with 300 estheticians in Daegu, and the results were analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis and regression analysis. According to the analysis, emotional labor and work stress were high among those who are young and unmarried with little work experience (3-5 years). As emotional labor increased, work stress also increased. This shows that emotional labor has a static effect on work stress. According to this analysis, it can be said that skin care specialists’ emotional labor can be the variable to control their work stress. It is expected that the results of this study can be used as basic data in seeking a way to reduce estheticians’ emotional labor and work stress.
