The purposes of this article are to analyse the participation, desire, and satisfaction level in husband housework perceived by employed wives, and to find the related variables on them. The theoretical bases are the traditional perspective, the exploitation perspective, and the changing roles perspective by Pleck’s study. The characteristice variables of employed wives, the family context variables, and husband’s sex-role ideology perceived by employed wives were investigated. The major findings are as follows: 1. Employed wives perceived that husband participate to physical housework and managerial housework similarly. 2. Most employed wives perceived that husband less participated to housework than her, and that they wanted to participate equally, thus they dissatisfied with husband’s participation. 3. In the characteristice variables of employed wives, employment status, paid-work time, and subjective income contribution were related. 4. In the family context variables, the age at marriage and education level and income of husband were related. 5. Employed wives perceived thar her husband was the more nontraditional sex ideology, the more he was paticipated, and then they satisfied.
