The Effects of Sexuality Education Program for 5th and 6th Grade Elementary School Children

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of sexuality education programs for elementary school children. The 60 subjects of 5th and 6th grade students were assigned to two experimental conditions of the multimedia and lecture learning. The Repeated Measures ANOVA was implemented to test the hypotheses. The results were as follows: Academic achievement scores of sexuality knowledge and attitude after the treatments were improved, but there were not significant differences between sexuality education programs using multimedia and lecture. The sexuality education has to be increased systematically, and various teaching methods suitable for students’ developmental characteristics must be developed for children.
