This study investigated the general trends of communication with parents and the self-esteem of their adolescent children, and the influencies of communication with parents on the self-esteem of their adolescent children. The subjects were 300 middle school students and the questionnare method was used. Results indicated that adolescents had more conversation time, shared activities, and open communication with their mothers than fathers. And, open communication with their parents leads more positive self-esteem of adolescents.
