A Study on the Economic Structure for the Measurement of Economic States of Households

Individuals and families are facing with many dangerous economic situations. Nowadays, economic values are more worthwhile according to the development of capitalism. But many factors as international free markets, rising in unemployment rates and rising consumer prices, etc, threaten family economy. In this circumstances, it is the role of household as a subsystem of family system to keep on the family and household economy stable for the family growth and development. So it is very important to understand the economic states of family. By this time, income and/or employment status have been taken as the index on economic states. But it’s limited to estimate the economic states accurately. How can we compose the economic structure of household to evaluate the economic states of household. From this perspective, this study dealt with introducing the economic structures in order to measure the economic states, that is economic distresses of households. Based on the preceding studies, economic distress measure was composed with 5 major areas(consumer price, income adequacy, employment, finance, relative deprivation) and it had 2 dimensions(subjective and objective) respectively.
