다중지능이론을 활용한 명화감상 활동 프로그램 개발

Development of an Appreciation Activities Program for Famous Paintings using the Multiple Intelligence Theory

본 연구에서는 기존에 개발된 명화감상 활동 프로그램과는 달리, 특정한 관점에서 바라보는 미술감상 활동이 아니라 다양한 활동을 통한 지식의 확장이 이루어질 수 있는 다중지능이론을 활용한 명화감상 활동 프로그램을 개발하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서 제시한 다중지능이론을 활용한 명화감상 활동 프로그램의 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기존의 단편적이고 분과적인 미술 감상 교육에 벗어나 국어, 수학, 사회, 과학, 음악, 미술, 체육 등 교육과정에서 경험할 수 없는 다양한 활동을 할 수 있도록 학생들의 발달 단계 및 흥미, 적성 등에 적합한 통합적 미술감상 활동 프로그램을 개발하였다. 둘째, 다중지능이론을 활용한 미술감상 활동 프로그램은 다양한 한국화를 읽고, 한국화로부터 배우는 시각적 학습(Visual learning), 시각적 사고력(visual thinking)과 시각적 의사소통(Visual communication) 등 시각적 문해력(Visual literacy)을 발달시킬 수 있다. 셋째, 한국화를 올바르게 이해하고 분별력 있고 비판적으로 수용하며, 적절하고 의미있게 활용함으로써 창의적인 새로운 창작활동을 할 수 있는 계기를 마련하였다.

This study set out to develop an appreciation activities program for famous paintings using the multiple intelligence theory that would allow for the expansion of the students' knowledge through diverse activities. The intended program would differ from the existing programs of the same kind, which usually offered art appreciation activities from a certain perspective. The program developed in the study has the following characteristic: first, it dismisses the conventional fragmentary art appreciation education that divides the disciplines and provides integrated art appreciation activities proper for the students' developmental stages, interests, and aptitudes so that they can engage in various activities that are not possible in the Korean, Math, Social Studies, Science, Music, Arts, and Physical Education curriculum individually. Secondly, the program of art appreciation activities using the multiple intelligence theory develops visual literacy of the students. Visual literacy involves the students reading and learning from a range of Korean paintings and includes visual learning, visual thinking, and visual communication. Finally, the program gives the students a chance to develop a right understanding of Korean paintings, accept them in a discreet and critical manner, and utilize them in an appropriate and meaningful fashion, thus engaging in new and original creative activities.
