Since 2003, Ahn Se Kwon has been filming and photographing the ever-changing cityscape of Seoul created by urban redevelopment projects of Cheonggye creek and Walgok-dong, for example. However, in doing so, the artist has never been truly honest about what his eyes saw. He captured things that the naked eye could not see by using telephoto lens and high-resolution films. Moreover, he manipulated the images by putting them together in a panoramic view, enlivening certain details through photo-retouching, or overlapping images taken at different time slots. His works records the 'memories of time' dwell in some specific areas. Moreover, it is a kind of way to confirm the nonexistence of something by fixing it to an enduring image. Therefore, this could be read as a method to focus on the ironic relations between the visible and the invisible. The irony is the source of power which enables Ahn Se Kwon to continue his works.
