평생교육과 평생학습 용어의 분리적 탐구와 학문적 개념화

Academic conceptualization of lifelong education and lifelong learning by exploring separatively historical facts and viewpoints related with the two concepts

본 논문은 평생교육과 평생학습 용어에 대한 역사적 사실을 밝히고 두 용어의 생성과 발전 과정을 비교분석하여 학문적 개념으로서의 가치를 도출하여 논의하는데 목적이 있었다. 연구 방법은 문헌고찰, 인터넷자료 분석, 팩션방식 기술법을 적용하였다. 문헌고찰은 평생교육 및 평생학습과 관련된 역사적 사실을 탐색하고 인터넷자료 분석은 역사적 사실에 대한 객관적으로 밝히기 위해 적용하였다. 팩션방식 기술법은 역사적 사실과 해석 자료를 토대로 논문을 기술하는데 적용하였다. 주요 연구결과는 평생교육과 평생학습의 생성과 발전과정을 스토리적으로 이해하고 해석할수 있도록 팩션 형식에 맞게 생성, 공론화, 확산, 제도화로 범주화시켜 두 개념을 비교하여 결과를 도출하였으며, 이렇게 밝혀진 두 개념의 학문적 개념화와 쟁점을 논의하고 통합하여 학문적 가치가 무엇인지를 제시하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 슬로건이나 정책적 용어와 실천적 용어로만 인식되었던 평생교육과 평생학습의 용어를 학문적 개념으로 인식하게 하였으며, 두 용어를 구분하지 않고 혼용하여 사용함으로써 범하게 되는 학문적 오류와 실천상의 혼란을 극복하게 하였다는데 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study were to draw the value as academic concept of lifelong education and lifelong learning through exploring separatively historical facts and viewpoints related with two concepts. The research methods were adapted with comparative analysis through literature review and historical exploration on lifelong education and lifelong learning as term. And this article described as faction mode of historiography for better understand and interpretation. The findings of this study were as follows. First, it was explored that the terms of lifelong education and lifelong learning had separatively the characteristics of the background, generation, development, diffusion, institutionalization as faction mode historiography. Second, it was discussed that the meanings and discourse between lifelong education and lifelong learning have common elements and different characteristics as the condition of disciplinary. Third, it was suggested that two concept of lifelong education and lifelong learning need to be understand as integrated concept for academic identification of lifelong education.
