이상국 시에 내재된 생태주의적 양상 연구

A Study on the Ecologism in Lee Sang-guk’s poetry

이 논문에서는 이상국의 시를 대상으로 사회생태주의와 심층생태주의로 논의했다. 먼저 사회생태주의의 양상을 보이는 작품에서는 인간과 인간 간에 새로운 관계 정립이 필요함을 보여준다. 지배와 피지배의 관계에서 야기되는 인간의 물질화를 상기시켜주고, 이러한 삶의 방식이 결국 자연생태계의 파괴로 전이된다고 본다. 이를 해결하기 위해 지구생태계 내 각 개인은 지배와 종속의 관계에서 벗어나 모두가 평등한 관계를 지향해야 한다는 주제가 암시된다. 각 개인이 위계 구조의 틀에서 벗어난 삶을 지향할 때, 지구생태계 내 모든 개체의 자아실현과 함께 지구생태계의 생명 발현 또한 순조로워진다는 것이다. 심층생태주의적 양상의 작품에서는 인간과 자연이 우주적 생명 공동체로서 서로 관련된 존재라는 것, 그리하여 인간과 동물ㆍ식물이 서로 얽혀 순환하는 가운데 생성하고 소멸하고, 죽고 부활한다는 주제가 논의되었다. 이러한 가치관을 통해 파악되는 심층생태주의의 시는 각 개인으로 하여금 지구생태계의 구성원으로서 추구해야 할 삶의 태도를 제시한다. 인간은 자연이라는 원리를 받아들여야 하며 자연 중심적으로 변화되어야 한다는 것이다. 이상국 시 전체를 거쳐 도출되는 이러한 두 가지 주제, 즉 심층생태주의와 사회생태주의적 사유를 드러내는 작품들은 지구생태계 내 인간과 자연이 어울려 조화롭게 살아가는 방향을 추구한다는 측면에서 그 지향하는 바가 서로 일치하고 맞물려 있음을 알 수 있다. 지구생태계 전체는 유기체적이며 전일적인 관계이므로 그 관계의 대상인 모든 인간과 자연은 개별적 존재로서 존중받아야 한다는 것이다.

The aim of this study was to discuss deep and social ecologism on Lee Sang-guk’s poems. His poems about social ecologism show a need for new relationships among human beings, reminding the readers of the objectification of man caused by the ruling-the ruled relationships and presenting a topic that all humans are equal beings and should live together after all. All should pursue a direction toward free beings, escaping from the obedience-subordination relationships. The poet emphasizes that moral economy should be realized for their specific realization. The economic polarization creates class polarization, which worsens inequality and, anxiety in individual beings. Another topic represented in His poems about deep ecologism is that all the destructions of communities and environments are attributed to the wrong attitude humans have toward nature. Humans see nature as a mere tool from the human-centric perspective. Thus while science and civilization keep evolving, the ecosystem gets destroyed and the cosmic life community will come to an end. Thus a new topic is proposed that humans should change their fundamental attitude toward nature and accept themselves as part of nature in order to solve those problems. His works to represent the two topics, namely deep and social ecologism, argue that the cause of ecosystem destruction derives from the human-centric perspective in man-nature relationships and man-man relationships. Thus those works of the two topics are in the same vein in that the hierarchical structure is the cause. In the end, the common direction should be the entire ecosystem that is organic and whole, which means all men and nature, the objects of those relationships, should be respected as individual beings.
