윤동주의 이른바 ‘서시’의 제목 문제

Debates about the title of Yun Dong-Joo’s poem which is called “Seosi.”

이 글은 윤동주의 이른바 ‘서시’의 제목에 대해 원전 비평 작업을 한 것이다. 얻어진 성과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 『사진판 윤동주 자필 시고전집』을 보면, 윤동주의 이른바 ‘서시’에는 제목이 없다. 둘째, 『하늘과 바람과 별과 시』의 제1판에 와서 제목을 부여하려는 시도가 나타났다. ‘(序詩)’라 하고, “하늘과 바람과 별과 시”라는 부제를 달았다. 하지만 점선을 둘러놓음으로써, 본문의 시들과는 구별했다. 셋째, 제2판에 와서 큰 변화가 일어났다. ‘(序詩)’를 ‘序詩’로 적었으며, 부제와 점선을 없앰으로써, 독립작품으로 인식할 수 있는 소지가 마련되었다. 이 제2판이 나온 이후, 비로소 윤동주 논의에서 이른바 ‘서시’가 거론되기 시작해 오늘에 이르고 있다.

This article is a textual criticism about the title of Yun Dong-Joo’s poem which is called “Seosi.” Criticisms are as follows. First, in 『Photograph version of Yun Dong-Joo’s Complete Autograph Poem Collection』, there is no tit1e of poem so-called “Seosi”. Second, there was a trial to assign the title to the poem of “Seosi” in the first version of poem collection, 『Heaven and wind and stars and poems』 where the title was tried to be “Seosi” with the subtitle of “Heaven and wind and stars and poems”. But the subtitle was surrounded by dotted lines and the poem was differentiated from others. Third, big change occurred in the second version. Title was written by ‘Seosi’ not by ‘(Seosi)’ and the poem had the issue to be acknowledged as an independent poem after eliminating the subtitle and dotted lines. Since the second edition， “Seosi” eventually started to be mentioned in Yun Dong-Joo discussion.
