Documentary credits are the most frequent method of payment in international trade. Under the documentary credits, necessary documents of CIF or CIP terms consist of a clean bill of lading evidencing a contract of carriage by sea to the agreed place of destination, a marine insurance policy or certificate covering the usual marine risks and any agreed additional risks, and the invoice in the stipulated form. This study examines the criterion of examination of insurance documents under Article 28 of UCP 600. And this study also pointed out several problems and implications with respect to opinions and decisions of International Chamber of Commerce. The main contents of Insurance documents described issuer and signature, presentation of original documents, date of commencement of cover, risk covered, a declaration under an open cover and type of insurance and additional risks.
