The concept of‘Smart’has been prevalent in a wide range of spheres in parallel with the wide spread of smart phones in a relatively short time period since its introduction in the late 2000s. The concept of 'Smart' is adopted as one of key economic jargons due to the wide application of IT technology which enable the rapid development of artificial intelligence, enhance quality of relevant services and the amalgamation with other core technologies. Such an unprecedentedly rapid pace in the recent development in both the IT technology and the global business environment with respect to international trade has brought forth the new demand for pioneering the new frontiers of global marketing related with the export and import procedures. The two imminent areas in international trade practice may be the further progress in the electronic document and overhauling of system to cope with the challenges caused by the 'Smart' technology. It may be prerequisite for us to introduce and set up the precise concept of ‘Smart’ trade before adopting such an important jargon in the related realms of international trade. This research aims at formulating a wide application of such a new concept of 'Smart' as an effective means of facilitating international trade after having analyzed the feasible contours of implementing the conceptual basis of 'Smart' to the improvement in cost and quality in carrying out international trade.
