ICT 투자의 외국인직접투자에 대한 영향

The Effect of ICT Investment on the Foreign Direct Investment : Evidence from 20 OECD Countries

OECD 20개국을 대상으로 중력모형을 이용하여 비주거용 총고정자본형성 중 ICT 투자가 외국인직접투자 유입에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 기본적인 중력모형에 외국인직접투자에 영향을 미치는 변수들을 모형에 포함하여 분석한 결과 ICT 투자는 외국인직접투자 유입에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 비주거용 총고정자본형성 중 ICT 투자 비율이 10% 증가할 때 OECD 국가의 양국 간 외국인직접투자는 0.57~1.04% 증가하는 것으로 분석되었는데 ICT 투자비율이 높은 국가일수록 외국인직접투자 유입이 증가함을 보여준다. 이러한 결과는 ICT 투자가 외국인직접투자 유입의 결정요소 중 하나로 고려될 수 있음을 의미한다.

The paper studies the effect of ICT investment in non-residential gross fixed capital formation on the stock of foreign direct investment(FDI). From the gravity model using a bilateral data set of 20 OECD countries this study found that the ICT investment has the positive effect on FDI stock in OECD countries. This result implies that when ICT investment in non-residential gross fixed capital formation increased by 10%, the FDI inflows to OECD countries increased by 0.57~1.04%. This result indicates that the ICT investment attracts the FDI inflows to the OECD countries. Therefore, we found that the ICT investment can be considered as one of the determinants of FDI inflows.
