This study investigates how grammar instruction is incorporated into various projects in the informal learning context, a Korean immersion camp, located in the U.S. The detailed descriptions from the data, which were collected through ethnographic method, presented the recurring speech events in which the learners participate during language instruction periods in the camp. By tracking how learners learn a grammatical from (the suggestion form, -어/아 보세요), the findings show that the projects extended from form-focused activities where the learners’ utterances were evaluated based on their correct use of the target grammar to the meaning-focused activities where the learners’ participation was considered to provide valuable opinions for the projects. The learners’ changes in participation indicate that project-based grammar instruction provide different opportunities of learning to the learners.
