The study attempts to investigate the relationship between Korean college students’ L2 perception/attitude and their classroom seating positions. The study also tries to explore the relationship among Korean college students’ L2 perception/attitude, their test scores and classroom seating positions. Sixty college students in Seoul participated in the research; they were majoring in English education. During fall semester 2011, each student’s seating position in one of the major courses has been recorded. The seats were divided into nine sections: front-middle-back, and left-center-right sections. The results showed that the students’ L2 perception/attitude and their seating positions were significantly correlated with each other. The results also revealed that Korean high achievers tend to prefer left-middle and center-middle section seats, and their L2 perception/attitude cannot be always assumed as very positive. Pedagogical implication of the findings are discussed along with directions for future research.
