The purpose of this article is to study the patteㄴrn of grammar in context and to use this for Korean language teaching. The corpus used in this study is made up of semi-spoken corpus and 21st century Sejong balance corpus. The semi-spoken corpus consists of information based on drama and movie. The procedure is numbered as (1) ‘-지 않다’, ‘-지 못하다’ analyzes corpus using sentence expression as keyword and lists it. (2) The sentence expression is tagged by seven categories; Speaker, listener, (the relationship between speaker and listener), speaker’s intention, location, and genre. (3) By using corpus analysis, we examine if there is a certain relationship between sentence expression and context. As a result of this analysis, ‘-지 못하냐’, ‘-지 않으면 안 된다’ showed that there was a noticeable difference between the seven categories that were aforementioned above in a certain context.
