With industrial development, the domestic and industrial consumption of electric energy is increasing steadily and it is again increasing power generation facilities for supplying electric energy. In particular, the increase in the number of thermal power plants is accompanied by the increased production of industrial wastes such as coal ash. In case of coal ash, only part of it like fly ash is recycled and bottom ash is mostly disposed through landfill without recycling. As an effort to solve this problem, this study analyzed the physiochemical properties of bottom ash in order to raise the rate of recycling of coal ash. Specifically, through the property evaluation of bottom ash and functional additives, this study aimed to develop a flooring material having the initial setting time longer than an hour, final setting time less than three hours, flow over 190mm, and wheel load resistance under 3㎜ and to evaluate its properties. Through this study, we expect to develop a functional flooring material and ultimately to contribute to solving the resource depletion problem and to prevent losses and environmental pollution resulting from landfill.
