이 글은 지난 열한 차례의 ‘전국 중등학생 이야기대회’ 수상작을 중심으로 이야기대회가 걸어온 길을 돌아보고 앞으로 나아갈 길을 내다보고자 한다. 이야기대회 수상작은 교실의 학급 이야기판에서 뽑혀, 교내 이야기대회를 거치고, 시도 지역 이야기대회를 넘어, 전국 이야기대회까지 올라와서 뽑힌 이야기들이므로 이 시대 중등학생들의 이야기 환경과 수준을 얼마만큼 보여준다고 볼 수 있다. 이런 자료를 대상으로 삼아 이야기대회의 흐름을 짚어본 다음, 수상작으로 뽑힌 이야기의 속살과 모습을 살펴보면서 국어교육 안에서 이야기교육이 나아갈 길을 내다보고자 한다. 이는 학술 논문이라기보다 경남 지역에서 이야기대회를 진행하고 같이 공부해 온 선생님들의 경험을 아우른 하나의 보고서에 가까운 글이다. 국어교육 안에서 이야기교육과 이야기대회의 앞날에 작은 보탬이라도 된다면 기쁘겠다.
This is about the way story-telling contest, which had its eleventh event, has been passing through and will go in the future, mostly taking its prize-winning works into account. The works are considered as stories reflecting some of the environments and levels of secondary school students, as they were awarded in the national competition which had its candidates from the regionally awarded ones, which were from school competitions and they were actually chosen from story bulletins in the classroom. By studying these materials, this will go through the flow of story-telling contest, and see through the way the Korean Education should proceed, examining the meaning and pattern of the prize-winning works. This is rather a report including the experiences of teachers who held the contests and have studied together in Gyeongnam than an acedemic paper. It is a great honor to be a little helpful for the future of the story-telling contest and the education in the Korean Education.
