Study on characteristics of excellent teachers in writing instruction

이 연구는 글쓰기 지도를 잘하는 우수 교사의 지도 특성을 분석하여 효율적인 글쓰기 지도 방안을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 현장 교사들과 학생들에게 글쓰기 지도를 잘한다고 인정받고 관련 활동과 성과가 있는 두 교사를 선정하여 쓰기 수업과 쓰기 시간 외 수업을 관찰, 녹화, 전사하였다. 또한 교사 심층 면담 및 학생 심층 면담과 설문을 실시하였다. 수집한 자료를 분석하여 글쓰기 지도 우수 교사의 특성을 추출했다. 글쓰기 지도 우수 교사는 쓰기에 대한 인식 측면에서 쓰기를 교실 문화의 중심축이자, 모든 교과 공부(범교과ㆍ간학문적)의 도구이며 의사소통의 수단이고, 인간 내면에 쌓인 무언가를 털어내는 치유의 방법으로 인식하는 특성을 가지고 있었다. 쓰기 수업 측면에서는 쓰기에 대한 동기 제고, 일상적이고 지역화한 주제와 소재의 선정, 긍정적 상호작용, 고쳐 쓰기와 제목 쓰기의 강조, 독자의 범위 확대, 학생의 목소리 강조 등의 특성이 나타났다. 쓰기 수업 외 측면에서는 쓰기 시간의 시공간적 확장, 체험의 의미화, 필자로서 교사의 모습 보여주기, 성장하는 교사로서의 모습 등의 특성을 보였다.

The study aims to investigate efficient writing guidance scheme by analyzing the instructional strategies of excellent teachers in writing class. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, two teachers proven as the outstanding instructors in writing according to fellow teachers and students and achieved accomplishment in relation to the writing were selected first. Subsequently, their writing courses and other than writing classes were observed, recorded, and transcribed. Moreover, in-depth discussions with teachers and students and surveys were conducted. By analyzing collected data, the characteristics of outstanding writing teachers were singled out. From the aspects of recognition, outstanding writing teachers tend to recognize the writing as the main pillar in a classroom culture, a tool serving entire the curriculum including across-curricular and inter-disciplinary studies, a therapeutic method of healing inner side of the body. From the aspects of writing class, the teachers perceived the writing as enhancing motivation in writing, selecting ordinary and localized writing themes and materials, positive interactions, underscoring revising and title writing, broadening the range of readers, emphasizing on the voice of students, and others. From the aspect of other than writing classes, the writing was perceived as visual and spatial expansion during writing course, making meaning out of daily experiences, role modeling as an writer, and etc.
