A Study on the Improvement of Working Environment for Development of Child-Care Teachers’ Professionalism

The purpose of this study was to analyze the demand and satisfaction of child-care teachers for improvement their working environment. For this purpose, the demand and satisfaction on working environment was examined using questionnaires from 165 child-care teachers. Data analysis was conducted by Chi-test, F-test and LSD post-hoc test. The results of this study indicated that there were significant differences among the groups in the status of working conditions for child-care teachers. Finally, it was discussed that the way for improvement of working conditions for child-care teachers. The main findings were as follows: improving working conditions according to demand and satisfaction of child-care teachers, proper payment of wages and appropriate working hours, guaranteeing holiday, resolving the insufficiency of substitute teachers, devising policy for enhancing participation in teacher‘training. etc.
