The Purpose of this were to investigate how parents perceive their infantile children’s play and to provide materials for parent education so that parents may correctly understand children’s play. Data were analyzed by frequencies, percentage and χ²-test. The results were as follow: 1) As for children’s play, most mothers and fathers perceived that ‘play is the expression of life.’ 2) The educational value of children’s play, both mothers and fathers appeared to have various views. 3) As for parents’ appropriate behaviors with regard to infants’ play, a majority of parents replied, ‘play together and have a chat.’ 4) As for children’s play activities, most parents perceived a playground as ‘a meeting place and a living space’ and the lowest percentage of parents replied ‘a resting place after work.’ 5) A majority of parents replied, ‘give time as long as they want’ to the question of how long they allow their children to play and ‘less than one hour’ to the question of how long they play with their children.
