온라인 사회운동의 출현에 따른 사회운동학습 담론의 확장 가능성

Possibilities of Social Movement Learning Discourses Extension Considering Online Social Movement

본 연구는 온라인 사회운동 출현에 따른 사회운동학습 담론의 확장 가능성의 문제를 이론적으로 탐색하기 위하여 실시되었다. 이를 위해 연구자는 첫째 사회운동에서 이루어지는 학습의 문제를 다룬 기존의 사회운동학습 담론을 분석하였다. 둘째 온라인 사회운동의 특성을 검토하고 사회운동학습 담론의 관점에서 온라인 사회운동에서 이루어지는 학습의 특성을 분석하였다. 셋째로 온라인 사회운동의 맥락을 고려해서 기존 사회운동학습 담론의 확장가능성과 이를 위한 이론적과제들을 제시하였다. 온라인 사회운동의 장은 일반적 사회운동이 갖는 학습의 장으로서의 기본적 특성을 가지고 있으면서 동시에 디지털 혁명에 의해 주어지는 존재 조건으로서 기술, 언어, 가상 등의 영향을 받고 있었다. 이는 사회운동학습이 일어나는 물리적 조건으로서 매체환경의 변화, 사회운동 학습주체로서의 자기 정체성의 변화, 그리고 사회운동학습의 원천으로서 실천 경험의 변화를 의미하는 것이었다. 연구자는 이 변화를 포괄하기 위한 사회운동학습의 이론적 과제로 매체 환경에 대한 비판적 접근, 온라인 정체성 고려, 운동 담론에 대한 자기 성찰적 학습의 문제를 제시하였다.

This study is to discuss possibilities of social movement learning discourses extension movement learning discourses considering online social movements. For this purpose, first I analysed social movement discourses which covered learning problems in the context of social movement. Second I analysed characteristics of online movements and learning problems in the theoretical frame of social movement learning. And third I suggested some theoretical challenges of social movement learning discourses to include online social movements. I could conclude that partially online social movements shared same characteristics with off-line social movement as the site of leaning, but were under influences of technologies, language and virtuality as existential conditions given by the digital revolution at the same time. This meant that there were changes of media environment as the physical conditions of learning, identities as learning subjects and practical experiences as learning sources in social movement. Considering these changes, I presented three theoretical challenges of social movement discourses as follows: 1) critical approaches to online media, 2) problems of identities, 3) reflexive learning about movement discourses.
