유아의 통합적 발달을 위한 언어교육활동 현장적용

The Application of Activities of Language Education for Children's Integrated Development

본 연구는 유아의 통합적 발달을 위한 총체적 언어교육활동을 유치원 현장에 적용하여 그 과정과 결과를 살펴보았다. 연구는 만 3, 4, 5세 혼합연령 유아 32명을 대상으로 8주 동안 실시되었고 유아의 언어활동을 녹화한 후 분석하였다. 연구 결과 유아의 언어활동은 실생활 속에서 지속적으로 사용함으로써 발달해가며, 분리된 낱글자가 아니라 의미를 전달하는 의사소통의 측면에서 사용되며 의사소통의 수단으로 음성언어뿐 아니라 문자언어도 함께 사용하였다. 또한 유아의 언어발달은 언어영역간의 통합을 통해 활동을 전개하는 과정에서 듣기, 말하기, 읽기, 쓰기가 동시에 이루어졌고, 교과간의 통합은 언어영역과 사회, 과학, 미술의 교과와 관련된 활동에서 자연스럽게 언어발달이 이루어져 의미 있는 언어사용을 자극할 수 있게 되기 때문에 유아의 통합적 발달을 도모하였다.

This research applied the activities for integrated language education at the preschool settings and analyzed the processes and results. Thirty two of 3, 4, 5 year-old children from mixed age classrooms were included in the seven-week study as subjects. Children's language activities were videotaped for data collection and analyzed. Children's language development were attained in speaking, listening, reading, and writing at the same time in the process of evolving activities for the integration among language areas. The integration between subjects; language-social science, language-natural science, and language-fine arts enhanced children's language development in natural ways and promoted children's meaningful use of language.
