다문화교육에 관한 유아교사의 인식과 실제

View and Real Situation of Preschool Teacher Regarding Multicultural Education

세계화 시대가 되어감에 따라 다양한 문화에 대한 이해와 존중의 필요성이 부각되면서 다문화 교육에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 유아교육기관의 교사들을 대상으로 다문화 교육에 대한 인식과 실제를 알아보고 관계를 조사함으로써 다문화 교육을 위한 시사점을 알아보고자 한다. 본 연구의 대상은 경기도에 소재한 유치원과 어린이집 교사 200명이며, 설문지를 통해 이루어 졌고 수집된 자료는 각 변인에 대한 기술적 통계치를 산출하여 연구문제에 따라 변량분석(ANOVA)과 t-분석(t-test), 상관분석(Correlation Analysis) 을 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다문화 교육에 관한 유아교사의 인식은 교사의 기관유형과 교육경력, 교사의 교육수준, 다문화 교육에 관한 학습여부에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다. 교육목표의 인식정도를 알아본 결과 국공립 어린이집과 공립유치원 교사들의 인식수준이 높게 나왔고 교사의 교육수준에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다. 다문화 교육에 관한 교사의 태도에는 경력이 많고, 교육수준이 높을수록 다문화에 대한 태도가 바람직하게 나타났다. 둘째, 다문화 교육에 관한 실제는 기관유형과 교사의 교육수준에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였는데 공립유치원의 교사와 대학원 이상의 교육수준을 지닌 교사가 환경구성과 교육활동을 더 활발히 하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 다문화 교육에 관한 유아교사의 인식과 실제와의 관계를 살펴보면 교사의 다문화 교육에 대한 인식이 높을수록 현장에서 다문화 교육에 관한 활동을 잘 실시하는 경향이 보였다.

The purpose of this study is to research on the recognition of and practices in multicultural education regarding the type of settings, educational levels, and educational experiences in kindergartens and day-care centers. The result of this study can be summarized as follows: First, this study showed significant difference in view of preschool teachers on multicultural education according to the type of institute, the educational career, the educational level of teachers, and whether he educated multicultural education. In investigating the goal of education, the level of recognition of teachers of national or public kindergarten is high, and significant difference has been shown according to the education level of teachers. The teachers of more career and the higher level of education have more preferable attitude toward multicultural education. Second, Teacher's practices about multicultural education were different by the type of institute, the educational level of teachers. Third, If teachers understood more about education goal and doing right attitude for multicultural education, teacher can prepare for educational environment, also show that they can trend to multicultural education.
