The aim of this study is to examine the newly published elementary school English textbooks according to the revised 7th national curriculum for English education from the perspective of English as a global language and intercultural speaker. For this analysis, four research questions have been set: (1) how are the circles, nations, and races distributed in the textbooks? (2) how are sphere of the interculturality and culture as difference distributed in the textbooks? (3) how interesting is the presentation method for cultural information? (4) how authentic is the non-verbal communication language? The results of the analysis revealed the range as a global language, sphere of the interculturality and culture as difference were generally agreeable, but presentation method for cultural information and the authenticity of the non-verbal communication language were not sufficient for a global language. This study suggests script-based English education to improve a student's communicative ability as an intercultural speaker. The script-based English will provide students authentic verbal and non-verbal communicative expressions, and students could have much understanding for target culture. Another suggestion is that the presentation method for cultural information should be more suitable for elementary school students' intellectual level, and more interesting using state-of-the-art such as UCC video clips, animation clips.
