인간 존재, 가능성 그리고 시간

Human being, possibility, and time

인간으로 존재함은 무엇을 뜻하는가? 인간을 가능적 존재로 이해 하고 시간적 측면에서 인간존재를 탐구함은 무엇을 말하는가? 반호저(K.J. Vanhoozer)는 이 글에서 하이데거의 현존재분석과 리쾨르의 가능성과 상상력 개념을 통해 이 두 물음에 답하고자 한다. 하이데거에 의하면, 현존재의 존재는 염려이다. 하이데거는 인간의 삶의 현상(드러남, 나타남)을 염려라고 표현한다. 이것은 인간의 거기에 있음(Dasein)이 실존(Existenz)이라는 말이다. 그리고 실존의 의미는 그의 ‘존재해야 함’에 있다. 실존으로서의 인간 존재는 앞서 결단함을 통해 본래적 삶을 살 수 있다. 특히 인간 현존재는 죽음에로 미리 앞서 달려가 볼 수 있는데, 이 점에서 인간은 시간적 존재로서 폭로된다. 따라서 하이데거는 시간성을 염려의 존재론적 의미로서 분석한다. 인간은 시간의식을 가지고 있다. 그리고 이 시간의식은 (인간)자신의 세계-내-존재로서의 가능성과 상상력(이야기)을 통해 드러나게 마련이다. 그래서 리쾨르는『시간과 이야기』에서 인간은 물리적 시간이 아닌 이야기된 시간을 산다고 주장하였다. 인간은 시간 속에 살며, 자신의 삶의 이야기를 만들어간다. 자신의 삶의 이야기는 바로 자신의 삶의 시간의 텍스트가 된다. 이러한 인간 현존재의 삶의 이야기 만들기 혹은 쓰기는 다름 아닌 ‘자기의 해석학’이다. 자기의 해석학의 최종목표는 자기 이해이다.

What does it mean human being? What is we regard human as possible being and temporal being? This article attempts to examine the being of Dasein in M. Heidegger and the narrative(imagination) in P. Ricoeur. According to Heidegger, the being of Dasein is Care(Sorge). Heidegger expressed the characteristic of human life as Care. This means that the way of being of Dasein is existence. And the meaning of existence lies in its “to be”. Also human as existence can anticipates toward death. At this point, human are disclosed as temporal being. And so, Heidegger analyzed temporality as the ontological meaning of care. These temporality of human life is expressed through his or her narrative. Therefore, in his book, Time and narrative, Ricoeur argued that human live not physical time, but narratived time. While human can live in time, he or she makes narrative of their own life. The narrative of one's life becomes the text of his or her life. The intention of these two actions is hermeneutics of the self. The final destination of hermeneutics of the self is self-understanding.
