본고는 논술고사의 실제 평가대상과 평가의 기준에 간극이 있음을 문제제기하고 결론을 옹호하는 일련의 사고 과정인 추론에 의해 정의된 논증 개념을 적용하여 논술자의 능력으로 제시된 평가 기준이 평가대상인 논술문에 적용될 수 있음을 보인다. 또한 논술에서 요구하는 논리와 논리학에서의 논리에 차이가 있다는 인식은 논리학에 대한 오해에서 비롯한 것이고 논리학이 다양한 논증들을 유형화하고 각 유형에 따라 좋은 논증이 되기 위해 필요한 기준들을 연구하는 학문임을 보임으로써 논리학이 논술에서 요구하는 논리와 다르지 않음을 논증한다.
In this paper, I bring into question that the criteria of essay test are the writer's abilities and solve this problem by definition of argument which is defined by inference which is a mental activity giving plausible reasons to support the conclusion. It is said that the logic is different from logical rules required in essay test. But I showed the thought depends on misunderstanding logic. I argue that the rules in essay test is the same as logic by showing what the logic is a studying on : classifying the type of various arguments, giving the criteria of good arguments or inferences on each type.
