우리는 현대를 살고 있다. 현대는 기술로 열어 밝혀지는 세계이다. 우리는 기술을 단순히 인간의 제작행위라고 볼 수 없으며 인간에 의해 제작된 도구라고 볼 수도 없다. 기술은 그것이 한 세계를 드러냄이라는 본질 안에서 이해되어야 한다. 이 글에서는 기술이 인간과 어떤 관계를 맺고 있으며 그로부터 어떻게 세계를 내보여주는가를 다루고 있다. 구체적으로 이 글에서는 자동차로 이야기될 수 있는 현대 기술의 한 모습을 살핀다. 자동차는 길이 있어야 다닐 수 있다. 그렇다면 인간에게 길이 뜻하는 바는 무엇인가를 알아본다. 그리고 현대기술의 차원에서 자동차와 인간은 어떤 연관의미를 갖는가를 고민해본다.

We live in the modern world. The modern world is a world disclosed by techné. We cannot simply consider techné as man's making act or its outcome, an instrument. Techné must be understood with respect to its essence, i.e. its revealing of a world within itself. This article deals with the relationship between man and techné and asks how such relationship reveals the world. in this article, specifically one aspect of modern technology will be discussed, and that with relation to cars. Cars can ambulate only where there is a way. Here, what does the way signify for man? Furthermore, what kind of relationship do cars and men have with each other especially from the standpoint of modern technology?
