The academic value and achievement of the articles published in Journal of the Korea English Education Society

The study analyzes and evaluates the academic value and achievement of the articles published in Journal of the Korea English Education Society (JKEES) for the last ten years. In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Korea English Education Society (KEES), it is the right time to put together the articles of JKEES, review its outcome, and diagnose its future orientation. To that end, the study reviewed the 152 articles from 2002 to 2010 on 5 criteria: research area, research subject, research method, research language, and references. In addition, in order to check the academic integrity of JKEES, its 39 papers in 2010 are compared and contrasted with the 47 papers of English Language Teaching in 2010, which is among the journals listed in Korea Citation Index of the National Research Foundation of Korea. On the grounds of these analyses, the future directions for KEES are discussed regarding EFL English Education in Korea.
