Dictogloss is an instructional technique developed within the framework of focus-on-form approach to grammar teaching. It helps learners pay attention to a target grammar form through collaborative dictation activities. The purpose of the study is to investigate the effects of dictogloss on elementary school students’ English negative form. For the purpose of the study, a total of 116 elementary school students participated in the study for six weeks. Pre-, post-, and delayed post-test were conducted to compare the improvement between the control and experimental groups. The results showed that there was no significant difference between the control and experimental groups in their use of negative form. In addition, no significant difference was observed among the different levels though the intermediate and low level students seemed to show a greater improvement on the post-, and delayed post-test. The results of the study indicate that dictogloss can be effective in raising learners’ awareness of the target form, but its long-term effect needs to be further investigated.
