유아교육과정 연구의 최근 동향

Trends of Early Childhood Curriculum Research : 2000~2011 Journal Articles Analysis

본 연구에서는 2000년부터 2011년까지 국내에서 이루어진 유아교육과정 관련 연구의 최근 동향을 분석하기 위하여 한국학술진흥재단의 등재 및 등재 후보 학술지에 게재된 연구논문 총 156편의 연구영역과 연구방법을 분석하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아교육과정과 관련된 연구는 유아교육과정 개발 및 설계 영역에서 가장 활발하게 진행되었으며, 유아교육과정·지침서 및 활동자료집 분석, 교사의 교육과정 전문성, 교수·수업연구, 유아교육과정 이론, 유아교육과정 연구방법론 등의 순서로 많은 연구가 이루어졌다. 둘째, 최근 10년간 이루어진 유아교육과정 연구들의 연구방법을 분석한 결과 가장 많이 사용된 연구방법은 질적연구방법이었으며, 다음으로 문헌·이론연구와 양적연구방법을 활용한 연구 등의 순으로 많은 연구가 수행되었다. 질적연구방법은 유아교육과정·지침서 및 활동자료집 분석 영역에서 가장 많이 사용되었으며, 문헌·이론연구방법은 대부분 유아교육과정 개발 및 설계 영역과 유아교육과정 이론 영역에서 활용되었다. 양적연구방법은 교사의 유아교육과정 전문성 영역, 유아교육과정 개발 및 설계 영역, 교수·수업연구 영역 등의 순으로 많이 활용되었다.

This study analyzed 'research areas' and 'research method' of 156 journal articles published during 2000~2011 period in the field of early childhood curriculum research in Korea. Content analysis was applied and each articles in the journals were coded to one of seven research areas and one of four methods. According to the content analysis of 'research areas', early childhood journal articles published in Korea have been most focused on curriculum development, followed by content analysis of early childhood curriculum and activity books, and teacher professionalism in early childhood curriculum. The content analysis of 'research method' has revealed that qualitative research method was applied the most, and then literature review, and quantitative research method were applied the lesser. The findings of this study demonstrated that several characteristics of early childhood curriculum research in Korea: The prevalence of research related to curriculum development, low research in literature review and research method, and recent increases of teacher professionalism in early childhood curriculum research areas. Regarding the research method in early childhood curriculum research in Korea, qualitative method has been increased recently and literature review method decreased.
