보건교사의 역량 요구 분석

Analysis of Competency Needs for Health Teachers at Elementary, Middle, and High Schools in Korea

이 연구는 보건교사 역량 모형을 활용하여 역량의 요구도와 우선순위를 분석하여 보건교사 역량 개발의 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 지역별 비율표집을 통해 전국의 보건교사 413명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 보리치 공식에 의거하여 보건교사 역량별 요구도를 분석하였고, 허쉬코비츠 임계함수를 활용한 각 역량별 우선순위를 도출하였다. 또한 학교급별, 학급규모별 역량의 요구도와 우선순위를 분석하였다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전체 보건교사의 응답을 분석한 결과 종합 우선순위 상위 5개 역량은 ‘자기 조절’,‘상담 지도’,‘교수 활동’,‘전문성 개발’,‘정보 관리’이다. 둘째, 학교급별로 나누어 살펴보면 초·중·고등학교 보건교사 집단 모두‘상담 지도’, ‘정보 관리’,‘전문성 개발’역량을 종합 우선순위 상위 역량으로 인식하고 있다. 셋째, 학급규모별로 나누어 살펴보았을 때도 모든 집단이 공통적으로‘상담 지도’,‘정보 관리’,‘전문성 개발’ 역량을 개발 대상 상위 역량으로 인식하고 있다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 보건교사 역량 개발을 위한 몇 가지 시사점을 제안하였다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate competency needs and priorities for health teachers in Korean schools, so that some suggestions were made for health teachers` competency development. A survey was conducted to examine the required and current levels of health teachers` competencies, based upon Park and Bae(2012)`s health teacher competency model. Survey questionnaires were distributed to 819 health teachers sampled proportionally from whole nation. Only 424 pieces out of them were collected and 413 ones were finally analyzed except for inappropriately responded questionnaires. The Borich’s formula was applied to analyze health teachers` competency needs, while the Herschkowitz critical function method was employed to examine health teachers` competency priorities. The results of this study showed that entire respondents of health teachers perceived ‘self control’, ‘consulting and teaching’, ‘teaching activity’, ‘professional expertise’, and ‘information management’ as top five priorities of competencies for health teachers. However, each of ‘consulting and teaching` ‘information management`, ‘professional expertise` was taken for top one priority of competencies in elementary, middle, and high schools respectively. Those three competencies were equally considered as a priority, regardless of class size. This study provided some suggestions for developing health teachers` competency at schools.
