General mantra recited in Buddhism ceremonies is occult so that translation has never been done since the ancient. This paper presents a comparison between the pronunciation and Korean orthography of Śūraṅgama samādhi dhāraṇī(mainly Song, Yuan, Myong versions 419-427) presently recited as a principal mantra anthology from Mangweol Temple, which was edited by a Zen Master Yongam in eighteenth century. The mantra anthology includes dhāraṇī and mantra represented by Siddhaṁ mātṛka, Chinese writing transliteration, and Korean language. This pronunciation of mantra was not delivered directly from India. It was transliterated by borrowing the sounds of Chinese writing different from the recitation the original mantra. The mantra anthology represents comprises Siddhaṁ mātṛka and Chinese writing transliteration and Korean language close to the original sounds by the use of Hongmujeongeun and side pots. This paper explains the practical examples of Siddhaṁ mātṛka through thirteen sections of mantra anthology and ten sections of explanatory note on mantra. According to the explanatory notes, it explains how to use Siddhaṁ mātṛka. The Siddhaṁ mātṛka of the version from Mangweol Temple and the pronunciation of Chinese writing transliteration have replaced presently-recited Sanskrit glottalized sounds and the exclusion of glottalized sounds with a tentative representation of Korean on Śūraṅgama samādhi dhāraṇī used largely. In addition, a concrete survey of Siddhaṁ mātṛka in Korea has a overlook of the pronunciation and perceptivity as well as the implied meaning and possible understanding of mantra through the grammar of Sanskrit.
