The meaning of Narrative Education for life

이 글은 이제까지 아이들의 삶을 돌보고 북돋우지 못한 우리나라 국어 교육, 나아가 우리나라 학교 교육의 빗나간 길을 되돌리는 첫 걸음의 열쇠로서 이야기 교육을 내세우고자 했다. 먼저 우리네 학교 교육이 빗나간 까닭이 무엇이며 빗나간 끝이 지금 어떠한지를 살피고, 이어서 이야기란 무엇인가? 이야기에는 어떤 것들이 있었고 또 있는가? 사람들이 21세기로 들어서면서 왜 새삼스럽게 이야기에 다시 눈길을 돌리는 것인가? 이런 물음의 대답을 찾으며 주제인 이야기 교육에 다가서고자 했다. 마침내주제에 다가서서 아이들의 삶을 살리고 세상을 살리는 열쇠 노릇을 해낼수 있는 이야기 교육의 힘, 곧 이야기 교육이 지닌 아이들의 삶과 세상을 살려 낼 수 있는 힘으로 하나 되기, 응어리 풀기, 세상 만들기, 죽음 넘어서기, 이렇게 넷을 꼽아 보았다.

This paper emphasizes the importance of the narrative education, which is the key step to turning over and normalizing our distorted school education. Because Korean education has failed to tend and improve students' trying lives. For the purpose of clarifying the theme, this paper raises a few questions. What is the reason our school education has deviated from the right track, and what results its deviation has caused? And What does the story means? Are we sure that the story exists? What kinds of story, if any, are there? How come people bring up the story abruptly at 21st century? I try to find the answers to these questions, at the same time approaching the very issue in narrative education. Finally, stepping up to conclusions, I find four ways out of our current fetters which are destroying our students. They come from the power of story, will rehabilitate students's lives and play a critical role in saving the destituted world. Through the story education bringing students' lives and the world back to life, I suggests these : First, I suggest the coordination. Second is venting grudge. Third is creating the world, and fourth, transcending death.
