This study of LeeSi-young’s collection of poems entitled “Silver Whistle” was conducted using a feminist bias. The content is as follows. First, his poems present symbolic suggestions transcending the duality of ‘masculine’ and ‘feminine’ spirituality. Shedding new light on the masculinity revealed in his poems enables it to be traced back to ‘principles of caring’. Second, his poems shows the possibility of horizontal antropomorphism, which is considered a concept of coexistence based on the eco-feminisit concept of life in which all beings in an eco-system are entitled to equality and dignity. Third, his poems primarily engage a connotative persona mostly. This connotative persona shows more empathy to objects in Lee’s short poems than in his prose versions. On the other hand, in the poet’s prose poems, the connotative persona has a relative objectivity in comparison with that found in the short poems. This indicates that his prose poems intend to send accurate messages rather than focus on expressive aspects. As discussed in this study, communion with natural objects is not based on the peculiarity originated from gender difference. Only the level of sincerity to the object is crucial. Therefore, the perception that the roles of men and women in the embodiment of eco-feminism are the same must be changed, and the prejudice of ‘masculinity’ and ‘femininity’ eliminated. When the divisions between man and woman and between nature and human are removed, a harmonious world which is the aim of eco-feminism can be realized, as in Lee Si-young’s poems.
