A Study on Local Residents’ Attitude of Impact Toward Local Food Tourism Development by Utilizing Storytelling

Since the rise in importance of community-based tourism, the concept of local residents’ attitude toward tourism development have emerged as significant areas of study. Tourism scholars and developers have been interested in developing a tourism resource by utilizing local food and storytelling. Studies tend to focus on economic impacts; however, there are increases of paying attention to social and environmental impacts of tourism development. The purpose of the present study demonstrated: 1) three-factor structure of residents’ attitude toward tourism impact; and 2) relationship between the factors and the expectation of successful tourism development. In order to address these purposes, the study employed the exploratory factor analysis and the multiple regression. All three factors as predictors had significant positive regression weights, indicating variables in the model.
