그림책활용 토의활동이 유아의 언어능력과 자아개념에 미치는 영향

The Effects of Discussion Activity Utilizing Picture Books on Young Children’s Language Ability and Self-concept

본 연구는 그림책활용 토의활동 프로그램이 유아의 언어능력과 자아개념에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 만 5세 유아 총 50명을 대상으로 그림책활용 토의활동 프로그램을 통해 유아의 언어능력과 자아개념에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 그림책 활용 토의활동 언어능력 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 둘째, 그림책 활용 토의활동은 유의 자아개념향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 그림책활용 토의활동은 언어능력과 긍정적인 자아개념 향상에 매우 도움이 되는 효과적인 프로그램이었다는 것이 확인되었다.

This study aimed to find out the effects of discussion activity Utilizing picture books on young children’s language ability and self-concept. Accordingly, research questions were established as followings: 1) What is the effect of discussion activity Utilizing picture books on the improvement of young children’s language ability (vocabulary ability, language comprehensibility, language expression, language creativity)? 2) What is the effect of discussion activity using picture books on the improvement of your children’s self-concept (language, mathematics, physical body, friendship, relationship with parents, general self)? To sum up the results of this study; First, young children in the experimental group conducted the discussion activity using picture books were more influenced on the improvement of their language ability than those in the control group. Especially, it was identified with activities improving language understanding, language expression and language creativity. Second, it was confirmed that discussion activity using picture books had a positive effect on the improvement of young children’s self-concept. As a result of this study, it confirmed that discussion activity using picture books was a program helping improve language ability and positive self-concept.
