The problems that make it difficult to increase the number of people who drink tea are a non-modernized culture, excessive competition among tea companies, relatively low marketing skills, lack of variety of tea products, failure to control quality, etc. To solve these problems, it is necessary to set a reasonable standard of evaluating tea systems, and to adapt the advanced marketing system. This, however, is not possible without a professional tea taster. In the present research, two solutions were suggested to develop a Korean tea taster certification system and a training program for those amenable to Korean situations. This study evaluated a national tea taster certification system by public examination or Korea tea taster accreditation board by commission organization. Properly qualified tea tasters are expected to boost the tea industry and cultural value of tea. Whichever system is chosen, the expected goal can be achieved when standards acceptable to the producer, consumer, scholar, researcher, leader, and government officer can be found. Aspects that should form the basis and standard of these discussion include the tea taster's grade, criteria of certification requirements, contents of educational training, procedure and method of examination, regular training of the qualifier, qualification and examination of the training organization, and the standard curriculum of tea testers.
