This paper identifies the contents and properties of smart grid destined to the optimal technologies and tools to implement the low-carbon green growth policy for decoupling economic growth from carbon emission through using less energy, improving the efficiency and moving to low-carbon energy sources, protecting the distributed power sources, designing low-carbon business models, and implementing policies and incentives which discourage carbon intensive practices. And we also analyze the outlooks for world energy demand and their relevant investment to 2035 and provide the forecasts of world, regional, and major country's smart gird market to derive the optimal market segmentation, targeting, and positioning strategies. In conclusion, to get the sustainable competitive advantage, the Korean smart grid industry based on the global-leading IT position and strengthened international competitiveness of power industry should design and make the processes on the adequate measures to develop and reinvigorate tile smart export marketing capabilities as well as the smart self-healing power grid system, building, transportation, electricity services through the inter and intra industry, large-small and medium B2B consortium, in the perspectives of rigorous cost-benefit analyses.
