The purpose of this paper is to show the brief empirical measurement way for using bilateral categorical variable in DEA(data envelopment analysis) efficiency with rank-sum test under input oriented CRS(constant returns to scale) and VRS(variable returns to scale) condition for 35 world container seaports in 2007 data for 4 inputs/berth, depth, total area, and number of crane) and I output(container handling amount, TEU). The main empirical results of this paper are as follows. First, according to empirical results of the bilateral categorical variable with rank-sum test, Korean ports are inefficient to Chinese Ports, and more efficient than Japanese and American Ports. Balanced results have shown to the Twain ports. The containerport policy planners should introduce and consider the management way of Chinese Ports, for example, Busan port(Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Hong Kong), Gwangyang port(Shenzhen), and lncheon(Ningbo, and Shenzhen).
